Rednote Ad Targeting

Rednote advertising allows advertisers to precisely target users based on a variety of factors:

  • Location (by country or city tier, such as Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 cities)
  • Age
  • Gender
  • Device system and price range
  • Behavior, interests, and intent (explained in more detail below)

Rednote classifies users based on their behavior and content interaction data, enabling more precise and effective ad targeting.

Rednote Device Targeting Options

You can also target users based on their device information:

  • Operating system (iOS / Android)
  • Device price range (divided into five tiers)

These data points can help indicate users’ purchasing power and usage habits.

Rednote Advanced Targeting

Rednote provides a variety of audience packages that help advertisers quickly reach specific user groups.

Audience packages are segmented across different dimensions, including:

  • Industry audiences (e.g., education, technology, manufacturing)
  • Lifestyle audiences (e.g., fitness, premium lifestyle)
  • E-commerce livestream audiences (e.g., frequent livestream viewers or participants)
  • Seasonal campaign audiences (e.g., users active during major promotions like 618 or Double 11)

These audience groups can be further refined into more specific tags for precise targeting.

Interest Targeting

Rednote’s interest targeting is structured across multiple levels (one to four).

For example:
“Education & Training” → “Language & Study Abroad” → “Study Abroad” → “Art Study Abroad”

Keyword Targeting

Keyword targeting is a key component of Rednote advertising and is divided into two main types: Interest and behavior.

Keyword Interest

Based on users’ long-term browsing and engagement behavior, forming stable interest profiles.

Keyword Behavior

Based on users’ recent activity, including:

  • Search (actively seeking information, typically indicating high intent)
  • Engagement (likes, saves, comments)
  • Content consumption (reading and browsing related content)

Rednote Smart Targeting

If your brand does not require highly detailed targeting in the beginning, you can also use smart targeting. This system automatically matches potential audiences based on multiple data points such as gender, age, location, and device, helping you efficiently gather initial data and performance insights during the campaign’s early phases.
